annoying ways -Gaby Boudani
I found this article extremely helpful in directing me towards how to properly cite quotes and information. I learned that you cannot just put a quote into you paper without introducing it, then analyzing it. I like how the article used students examples to show how to correctly quote information. It is necessary not to quote too much, especially not one quote directly after another. There needs to be analysis to create a flow and make the essay your own. I get how people would get annoyed after repeated mistakes because I have been reading papers in the past and wondered how the person could just throw a quote out of no where. I think this article will be very helpful when writing my research paper. I have to make sure the information I put in doesn't over power my personal opinion.
I agree with you that there needs to be an analysis after every quote. If the writer does not include the analysis, it leaves the audience confusion on why the quote was placed there to begin with.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the point that the essay taught me to not just throw a quote anywhere but to lead off with some information about the quote first.
