Chapter 5
I honestly thought that I learned nothing knew reading this chapter, because it's pretty much all either common sense or stuff that we learned in middle and high school. Typically the way that I research a topic and decide if I want to use it or not is by looking it up on google or google scholar and seeing how many sources are available and whether or not those sources are credible. If I look it up and can only find Prezi presentations or Wikipedia pages, it's most likely not a good topic to choose. I narrow my topic down by doing further research to see if there are sources on that specific topic that provide me more information on it. Like the chapter suggested, I often go back to the research question or prompt to make sure that my topic will be able to effectively answer it.
I agree that a lot of the things mentioned in the book are common sense or things previously taught in AP language. I also choose a topic depending on how many sources they are and credibility.
