Project 3 Presentations - Day One

Emily Nadel 
Personally for this project I liked the 3 fold brochure, it did a good job incorporating her audience which is parents and it is evident she put a lot of work into it and it could easily be printed and distributed to inform the public. 

Caroline Bing 
Personally I really liked the satirical poem because it addressed common concerns about vegetarianism and showed a back and forth conversation between a vegetarian and non vegetarian. 

Analeza Newman 
Her project on the changing nature of music was very good, especially her Instagram page. Her Instagram page featured various artist and featured some of their music which was very original. 

Ke’yana Walker 
Really liked the resume, she did a very good job subverting such a serious genre. The resume highlighted how venerable the victims of sex trafficking are and how often people are deceived into this. 

Josh Liles
For his project he did a gallery on pictures in black and white as well as in color because it made a lasting impression on the viewers. 

Lauren Bodden 
If it were my project I would have made my own memes rather than pulling memes that were already made off of twitter. 

Sydeney Sawyer 
The memes were very good a portraying the idea the being vegetarian is best but it did not go into detail on why this is good or bad.

Garret Podolan 
The online survey was very good at conveying what the publics thoughts are on corporate tax cuts, however if I did this project I would have included more questions from the survey. 

Hailey Maksymiak 
The Facebook page did a very good job of incorporating her audience, as well as making it intriguing.

Alexis Agulia 
The poem was very good, it was well written and conveyed a person expense of his topic. It discusses how lady liberty has deserted him. The guitar playing was very good and unique. 

Gaby Boudani 
The purpose of this project was to inform the public about the seriousness of PTSD and to raise awareness on the severity of this disorder as well as what we can do to help those suffering from this. 

Hannah Lipman 
The cartoon was a very unique adaptation and it conveyed the overall purpose which was selling people on physicians assisted suicide, and was also very informative. 

Julie Cotton 

The purpose of this project is to convey why eating bugs is normalized in other countries but is not culturally acceptable in America.

"Navigating Genres" by Kerry Dirk makes you really think about what a genre is. Whenever I thought about genres, I always thought of it as the type of writing that is being created. All throughout school, we were taught that a genre was used to describe a novel such as nonfiction, fiction, fantasy, science fiction, etc. I never really thought of a piece of writing having a genre but now, after reading Dirk's piece, I now realize that writing does have a genre. Dirk also points out that genres are used to help people accomplish a goal. I never thought a genre could do that. I always thought it was used to just categorize novels or short stories but, now that I have read this piece, I now realize that genres are important because, if you write in the wrong genre, the message that you want to portray can come across completely differently then you had intended. Project 2 Reflection

1)      In this essay I am most proud of the new way in which I learned to write a research paper. I was able to incorporate new writing skills into my paper that I never learned in my high school classes but will aid me in my future writing. 2)      If I had more time to work on this essay I would try to include more specific details to support my topic from a wider range of sources and provide more reasoning to support the legalization of physician assisted suicide. 3)      Peer reviews benefitted my essay the most. This is because it provided me with a lot of constructive feedback that I was able to take into consideration while editing my paper.
