Annoying Ways Response

The essay did not surprise me because I have incorporates many of the ways to cite to sources that he includes in his essay into my own writing. I am used to knowing how to properly insert a quote into my text, and how to give background before including the quote. The writing would have a better flow if you give background before a quote so the audience will understand the context in which the quote is introduced. I find it interesting that some writers use to many quotes to try to make a point, but they don't provide analysis of the quote. I, however, am used to providing analysis for a quote, and not using as many quotes.

  1. I agree with you. I always include an analysis when I quote something. However, if I add background about where the quote came from it would give the audience a better understanding.

  3. I am similar to you in the sense that I always like to add a thorough analysis of the quotes that I incorporate from texts. I feel that it adds much more "meat" to my claim, in turn, making my writing sound more intellectual.
