Journal 2

Project One for me was … quite the experience. While I am familiar with analytical writing like this, I have never had the need to compose something so lengthy, and it was a struggle. I feel like overall I had plenty of great points, but getting to that word count took so much rewriting I am exhausted. Overall, I would say that my ability to expand on things that I previously thought could not be expanded would be my greatest writing improvement through the drafting process. I think the most important thing I learned from the writing process would be that going slowly can be beneficial. Usually when writing papers, I would be required to sit down for 50 minutes, force out information, then call it a day. I feel that the timeline and requirements of rewrites actually helped me to get better, not just become more efficient. If I had another week I think I would try to incorporate some of the sources we talked about in our library class. I had already constructed and revised most of that essay, so it was not easy to include these sources without major changes. I’m not sure if I would rewrite the prompt, I think that the two-genre concept Is interesting and the project went over well.
