Annoying Ways - Amiyah Lytle
In this piece, the author uses comparisons for drivers on the road to connect to the concept of writing conventions. He describes some of the annoyances often found in academic papers. For example, one of the first annoyances he introduces is when someone uses a quote without quoting it first. This can lead to confusion to the reader with the thought that the quote "came out of nowhere". Another annoyance is ending a paragraph with a quote. There is a general pattern you follow: prepare, quote, and analyze. There were other annoyances and fixes the author mentioned, as well. In this piece, he goes on to explain how to use in text citations and citations in general. Overall, this piece was really beneficial in teaching me on some things to look out for when writing my paper. I related to the aspect of needing to fix my in text citations. This source will definitely assist me in keeping my project two paper on track.
