Annoying Ways Response
I like reading informal tone writings because I find it more interesting to read and when I enjoy what I’m reading I’m more likely to understand the topic. I can relate to the slow diver example and found it helped me understand the idea of writing conventions rules. I like the metaphor of the car's paint job to the diction and language used in writing with how you do not notice the way of the writing if the writing is done wrong, just like I would not notice the paint job of a car only how the car is driving. It is interesting how the author describes it as a convention not writing rules on the aspect how your writing changes based on a plethora of factors like purpose or audience. I like the examples, it helped me see the connection of the mistakes in actual writings. Especially like how the author included "the fix" to show the ways to fix mistakes. After reading this article, I feel I have a better understanding on how to imply quotes in writing.
I agree that reading essays with an informal tone is way more fun than reading super formal and serious essays.
