Emily Stock Journal 2

1) While writing project 1 I believe that I improved the most with organizing my paragraphs and the structure of my essay from the first draft to my final draft. Having multiple drafts helped me to reread my writing and making it more concise and organized.
2) The most important thing that I learned from this project was the importance of multiple drafts. Having many drafts gave me multiple chances to check my writing. I was able to make sure that not only my paper made sense but that it clearly answered the prompt as well as check for grammar mistakes.
3) If I had another week to work on my essay I would probably go into more detail while checking my wording. I would make sure that words are not overused but used in the right amount to help the essay be easier to understand and make it flow as easily as possible.

4) If I could rewrite the prompt in the syllabus I would allow the first few drafts to be the full 1500 words that the final draft requires. I think this would help because then I would have had a chance for my peer reviewers to review all of my examples. This would help me to make sure that my examples that I added in later follow the flow of my essay not only in my own opinion.

  1. Hi Emily
I'm glad to see that you learned how much several drafts can help you in your writing. Regarding a later revision in your final draft, you could schedule an appointment at the reading writing center. Unfortunately we don't have time for two peer reviews.
