Project 3- Day 2

Sarah-

I like how she brought to life the fact that people are scared to express their feelings because no one should be afraid to express themselves, no matter what gender.

Luke-

I liked how he brought a common issue to life because people feel as though they need to be someone else and through his survey he was able to show that people feel this way when they shouldn't have to. 

Katie-

I liked how she thought about both sides of the survey and really related her playlist towards those groups and what they would see is best for them.

Logan-

I liked how he brought out the side that people aren't trying to steal from those who started the genre but that they are trying to show their love for it. The poem was good. I liked that the poem used the argument and it brought the argument to life and it suggested a change.

Emily M-

I really like how the blog was based on her personal journey to becoming a vegetarian and she thought about her journey and what people need to know about vegetarianism.

Amyiah-

I really like the video because it brings to life the impact of mass shootings and how they are a problem and that they can occur at any point.

John-

I like how the he created was put into an interview format because it brings to life the fact that people invested into this but they have no idea what they did and now they are very wealthy. It makes it easier to understand cryptocurrency if you don't know what exactly it is.

Sean-

I like how he used the blog as a timeline to show the impact that e-readers have had on the publishing industry because you would never think that online texts would have a major impact on publishing because certain people do like printed versions of books. 

Madison-

I really like how she chose to use a social media site to promote the impact that social media has in our lives and on body image because since so many people use social media, it is a good platform to reach people with.

Emily S-

I like that she brought to life an issue that not may people know much about and she used things that would make it easier for people to understand.

After reading this chapter I realized that choosing a genre is an important and rather strenuous task, as one needs to execute the process to their own liking.   In my own personal experiences, I was never given the opportunity to explore the various genres offered, as I was always told to write a certain way in order to receive passable scores on either the AP and AICE examinations.   Therefore, this article on genres and the different ways to relay your central message to the audience was very intriguing to me.   Additionally, this chapter further enhanced my knowledge on the three rhetorical appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos.   My tenth grade AICE English Language class briefly explained these devices, so I was always very eager to learn more about using these appeals within my own ideas and the variations within each.   Thus, these appeals will help correlate the various forms of media layouts used to capture the readers’ or the audiences’ attentions which, in my opinion, is an

Project 2 Reflection

1)      In this essay I am most proud of the new way in which I learned to write a research paper. I was able to incorporate new writing skills into my paper that I never learned in my high school classes but will aid me in my future writing. 2)      If I had more time to work on this essay I would try to include more specific details to support my topic from a wider range of sources and provide more reasoning to support the legalization of physician assisted suicide. 3)      Peer reviews benefitted my essay the most. This is because it provided me with a lot of constructive feedback that I was able to take into consideration while editing my paper. The teacher review also helped me inn a similar way because it gave me some direction with where to go with my essay. 4)      While writing this project I was able to learn a different way of writing a research paper in which I have previously done in high school. This paper was more formal than other research papers I have written.

Action Plan

Based on the feedback I received from the peer review session, there are minimal aspects to my research paper that need to be changed. The most important change that needs to be completed before submitting my final draft is I need to make sure to fully develop my opinions within my conclusion. I also believe that there are a few sentences that could be enhanced within my literature review. I believe that these changes will make my essay more coherent to readers.
