Project #2 Reflection

1.) In this essay, I am most proud of the beginning, which includes my introduction paragraph and my literary review. I have always struggled with writing a good introduction because I have always felt like I did not have the ability to lure the readers in and keep them interested in what I was writing. I actually went about the introduction of my essay in a very different way; I decided to begin the entire piece with a clever analogy (in my opinion), comparing the relationship between a parent and a child to art. 2.) If I was given more time to write this research paper, I would have probably added some suggestions/tips specifically for all children who could possibly relate to having authoritarian (strict) parents, relate to being extremely stressed and overwhelmed with the high school to college transition, or even relate to suffering (and maybe overcoming) a mental illness such as anxiety or depression. 3.) Looking back, I can honestly say that I do not think any of the steps w

questions

1.        What are you most proud of in this essay? I am very proud that I was able to apply my knowledge from my major into my research paper. I am a psychology major, so I have recently been learning about social psychology and introduction to brain and behavior, so I was able to relate the brain to emotional pain. I was excited I could apply my knowledge on the brain and neurotransmitters. 2.        What would you change or add in the essay? If I were given more time I would’ve included a specific section on the bond that and animal shares with their owner. Military personal are organized in platoons, which is a group of people, to serve their terms. These men are their family and when they go home from service they are left with no one. They are so used to being in a group that the isolation tends to have a great effect on them. 3.        Considering all the steps that we took, which benefited you the most and how? Honestly, every single step benefited me a lot and came

Research Essay Reflection

1. What are you most proud of in this essay? In this essay, I am most proud of my literature review because I was able to remain unbiased on my      topic on euthanasia.  Since these is a critical topic I was afraid that I was going to be biased when comparing the benefits and harms of this practice. 2. What would you change or add in the essay given more time? If I was given more time I would probably add to my conclusion to coherently display my opinions on my research topic to the audience. 3. Considering the steps that we took (outline, annotated bibliography, peer review) which benefited you the most and how? Out of all the steps we took during this research assignment, including the outline, annotated bibliography, and peer review I believe the annotated bibliography benefited me most. The annotated bibliography gave me an understanding of my sources which helped within the literature review. 4. In terms of writing and not the topic of your essay what did you learn?

Josh's dope answers

1. I am most proud that I did my research and actually used legit sources. In the past, I've had a tendency to just use the sources that are easily available, like the first thing that pops up in a google source.💊 2. I would most likely add graphs or charts to quantify some of the statistics and some pictures of the reefs to show how significant the damage is.⚾ 3.  Annotated Bibliography before writing benefited me the most because it gave me a nice introduction into the subject, as well as forced me to form an opinion on it.🌝 4. I learned the importance of looking for peer-reviewed sources and keeping separate sections for opinion-based and subjective accounts of each source.🐵 5. I would change the outline portion of the assignment, I seemed to be repeating myself a lot.🐴🎷

Journal questions for Essay #2

1.        What are you most proud of in this essay? In this essay I was mostly proud of the fact that I did all my work not only for the assignment but for myself. This research that I did will benefit me in the future and I’m glad to have some of it done now and make the research I’ll need to do in a few years a little easier and lighter. 2.        What would you change or add in the essay if you were given more time? If I had more time I would probably change some of my evidence and make it more narrowly focused on my topic. Some of the evidence I had was really good, and I liked it but some of it could’ve been clearer and better explained what I was trying to say 3.        Considering all the steps we took, which one benefited you the most and how? The annotated bibliography benefitted me the most because it had my evidence in there with the explanation, so it made it easier on my not having to find the evidence and explain it as well. 4.        In ter

Research Project Reflection

What are you most proud of in this essay? I am most proud of the content in my essay. I feel like I utilized all of my research in an effective way to prove my research paper and thesis. I am also proud of the way that I completed it. I took my time and didn’t cram it all into one night. What would you change or add in the essay if you were given more time? If I were given more time, I would touch on more research topics, instead of the three I did in my paper. What step in this process benefited you the most? The step that benefited me the most in this process was teacher conferences. I found out the direction I needed to go in and got feedback on what needed to be improved. The annotated bibliography also helped me immensely while doing my literature review. What did you learn from project two? My takeaway from this project is now I feel confident going forward in research papers. I learned how to successfully navigate the scholarly databases too, which will also benef

Project 2 Questions

1. In this essay, I am the most proud of how I have learned how to find a proper and noteworthy source. In the past, I had just used sources that only agreed with my answer to and essay rather than use one that I could easily refute and make my essay stronger. 2. IF I was given more time I would probably add a survey or questionnaire to my essay to find the overall consensus regarding the thoughts and opinions of the FSU students around me. It would have enabled me to consider what was the most subversive idea on campus or in society general. 3. The annotated bibliography step definitely helped me more than any of the other steps because when I sat down to conduct my research I had a purpose for gathering the main points of a source and figuring out how I was going to use them in my paper. By the time I had finished my annotations my essay has essentially written itself.  4. I learned that it is 100% beneficial to write an essay in separate parts rather than write it all at

Journal

1. I am most proud of my support for my arguments.  I believe that I found highly supportive evidence and that I efficiently applied it to my writing to back up my opinion. I am also really proud of the overall structure of the essay. 2. If I was given more time I would review my writing more closely and try to improve my sentence structure and word choice. 3. The outline benefitted me the most because when it came time to write my first draft, I was able to use my outline as a guide and it was like half my work was already done for me.  The annotated bibliography ended up being very helpful too because I was able to know my sources really well when I began writing my essay. 4. I learned how to do a literature review and an annotated bibliography.  I also learned how to structure a research essay using subtitles. 5. I don't think I would change anything. Even though it was a lot of work, I feel that all of the parts we had to do made the essay writing a better and easier proces

Research Paper Response

1.        I am most proud of that I conducted a survey and was able to analyze the results to test a hypothesis. 2.        What I would change or add in the essay is I would have conducted an actual observational study instead of just a survey to see if that would give me better, more accurate results. 3.        Considering the steps, we took before writing the essay, the annotated bibliography helped the most because it forced me to have my sources already ready and also not only have my sources but also know a summary about them, which helped significantly with my literature review.   4.        My take away from project two, not only is just the understanding of how to write a research paper and what a research paper consists of but also the fact that I can write my own research paper. 5.        If I could, I would change the time frame for the assignment, maybe add another draft in between the final with another conference.

Research Essay Reflection

1. What are you most proud of in this essay? I think I'm most proud of how I managed to write a 2500 word paper in two days. Honestly though, writing isn't my thing so I think I'm really proud of how my writing turned out and how the different aspects connected together. 2. What would you change or add in the essay if you were given more time? I think I would add more research if I was given the time to further support my explanation and large examples. Perhaps, I could've included a subtopic that branched off from the main topic to cover the aspect not so closely related but important. 3. Considering all the steps that we took, which one benefited you the most and how? Personally, neither of them benefitted me. However if I had to pick one, I would choose the outline. Having a general plan to how you want your essay to flow is a good tool to look back on and make sure you're keeping your writing on topic, as well as including the information that you plan

Project 2 Reflection

1)      In this essay I am most proud of the new way in which I learned to write a research paper. I was able to incorporate new writing skills into my paper that I never learned in my high school classes but will aid me in my future writing. 2)      If I had more time to work on this essay I would try to include more specific details to support my topic from a wider range of sources and provide more reasoning to support the legalization of physician assisted suicide. 3)      Peer reviews benefitted my essay the most. This is because it provided me with a lot of constructive feedback that I was able to take into consideration while editing my paper. The teacher review also helped me inn a similar way because it gave me some direction with where to go with my essay. 4)      While writing this project I was able to learn a different way of writing a research paper in which I have previously done in high school. This paper was more formal than other research papers I have written.

In Class Journaling - Paper 2

From this essay I am most proud of how I used the scientific articles to not only draw conclusions about health but more so culture. Writing about the culture of fad diets at first was difficult because there were not many sources that addressed it directly, this pushed me as a writer to find a way in which I could use the scientific information about health to discuss culture.  If I were given more time I would further expand on the age demographic I choose. While I did write about my age range in the culture section of my paper it was not very present in the health section of my paper.  The step that benefitted me the most was the annotated bibliography because it forced me to get all of my sources in order as well as knowing the contents of each. For me it is hardest starting an essay and figuring out the direction and that annotated bibliography helped with this.  From project 2 I learned that the more effort put into the prewriting processes; proposal, outline and annotated bi

Journal

I enjoyed the topics I picked because I learned a lot of valuable information about sex trafficking in South Africa, and I helped me to think about trafficking in the USA. If I was given more time, I would do a comparison of trafficking in the US to trafficking in South Africa, and I would try to find more information on parents being involved in trafficking of their daughters. The annotated bibliography helped me the most because it helped me to better understand the material that was found in the articles, and it better prepared me to formulate by argument and literature review for my paper. I learned more about how being in the lower class in a society could be very detrimental to your life, and I more prepared when I write more research papers. I would change the setup of the outline of the assignment because it was a bit confusing about how to include a literature review.

Research Paper Response

1. What am I most proud of in this essay?         I would have to say that I am most proud of the entire thing. This was the first research paper I completed in a very, very long time so it was off to a very rocky start. However, come 1am when I finally finished the paper I was beyond proud of the whole thing. 2. What would I change or add into the essay if I was given more time?        I would add another survey/ run another test to further provide numerical responses that support my researched topic/claim. The survey I did, did indeed do this, however I feel as though another survey containing different questions would have made a difference. 3.  Considering all the steps taken, which step benefited me the most? and How?       The step that benefited me the most would have been the one on one conferences. Prior to the conference my first draft was far from correct in many, many ways... but once I received feedback I was then on the right track and felt more confident in what I was

Post-Essay Questions

1) I'm most proud of getting the essay done in general. I have a problem sometimes where I'm extremely reluctant to do big projects until the day before they're due, and that kind of happened with this paper. I pulled through, though, and I'm actually fairly satisfied with how my paper turned out. 2) If given more time, I would add more analysis of the articles and how they related to my topic. I think I was a little lacking in that portion of the essay. 3) The outline and annotated bibliography were the most beneficial in the writing process, I think. With the outline it helped me get an idea of how I wanted to organize my thoughts in the essay which I sometimes have issues with. And with the annotated bibliography, it helped me get a much better grasp on most of my articles which helped me writing the essay later. 4) My takeaway from this project was that I need to work on my time management skills. My biggest problem working on the essay as a whole was not allo

Reflection

1. What are you most proud of in this essay? I am most proud of how I researched. It took a lot of time and patience, but I finally found the best sources for my paper. 2. What would you change or add in the essay if you were given more time? If I had more time, I would have given my survey out to more people and would have added more questions. 3. Considering all the steps, which one benefited you the most? I think the outline and annotated bibliography helped me to most. The outline made it easier to structure my paper and the annotated bibliography helped me organize my sources. 4. What did you learn? I learned how to cite sources. I was familiar with it, but I normally would use an outside website that would generate my references for me. After this paper, I know how to use in text citations and citations correctly. 5. What would you change? I would change the word count of the paper to less words.

Project 2 Reflection

1. I am most proud of the fact that I was able to find research that was valid because this debate is relatively new and I didn't know if there would be enough research studies to accurately support my argument. 2. I would potentially change the studies I used and find more that would support that there are studies being conducted to limit the impact of hits to the head. 3. I feel like the annotated bibliography helped me the most because it forced me to find studies that were valid early and by doing the small annotations, I was able to save time writing the paper because I could just copy my annotations over to my actual paper. 4. I learned that I need to reread my essay more for flow because I tended to ramble on about one area and then I would abruptly go into the next topic area with no real transition or introduction of the next idea. 5. I would change nothing about this assignment. I feel like was well planned. If i had to change something, it may be the time between the

review project 2

Throughout this process, I think I am most proud of the fact that I actually enjoyed writing it. Because I picked a topic that actually interested me, I was able to  write, and keep writing with minimal pain. This is different then my usual struggle to expand on things I have no interest in.  I am not really sure what I would change in the essay, but if I had to pick something I guess it would be the literature review. I don't really remember learning that, so I have no idea what I even ended up doing. I really liked getting the annotates bibliography done before the essay. This made it easy to use my sources and to create the works cited page when I was ready to submit my paper. I did like the outline, however I ended up tweaking my arguments so I don't think it was the most helpful. I learned how to structure and write a research essay. I had never done one before. Also, I have only ever written one other essay this length, so I think it is helpful to practice writing extens

Research Paper Reflection

1) I am most proud of myself for simply getting this essay done. I've been struggling a lot the past few weeks and I am relieved that I completed a project that was causing me such high levels of stress. 2) I would add a paragraph at the end of my interview section that does a better job of tying in each interview to the argument of my thesis. Additionally, I would make me stance in my thesis clearer. 3) The Annotated Bibliography benefited me the most because it ensured that I was actively reviewing my sources. Additionally, having the main points of each lengthy article written out in one place saved me the trouble of going back through all of them searching for support when I was trying to finish this paper. 4) I learned a lot about research paper formatting and content. I had never encountered a project where I had to use this style of writing and it was very challenging for me, but I'm glad that I learned this as it will probably benefit me later on. 5) If I could

Research Paper Response

1. I am most proud of the research I did on this paper and the accuracy of my paper's content. Also, I liked the fluency of my paper, I thought it flowed from each topic good. 2. If given more time to write my essay, I would look up more statistics about my topic to further stress my argument. 3. The annotated bibliography benefitted me the most before writing my paper. By making an annotated bibliography I was able to get a good background on my topic and have several sources that I can pull information out of for my paper. 4. My biggest takeaway from this research paper was that the sources you use in writing your paper are very important. It is important to have good, credible, reliable sources that you can use in your paper. 5. The only part of this assignment I would change about this assignment is that the outline we created be removed as that did not help as much as the annotated bibliography.

Project 2 Response Questions and Answers

If you could, what would you change about this assignment? - If I could change something about thi

Project 2

1. Possible the thing I am most proud of during project 2 was my ability to schedule my writing time. This is to say I did not fall behind on the writing, leaving it all for last minute. 2. The thing I would change of the essay is the research question. I believe i chose a very difficult topic for my first research essay, dealing on a topic that does not have many sources available. 3. The research outline benefited me the most. This was because it created a structure for me to follow. All i had to do is fill each section with the corresponding information. 4. In project two i learned that research essay are more than simply stating facts. You have to take these facts and later build an argument around the information you provided. 5. If their is one thing i could change about the project is the requirement of 8 sources. I believe that by providing this minimum it forces students to pick sources that dont necessarily fit.

post research paper journal

1. I am most proud of all that I learned in this essay. i feel like i really understand my topic well and now i am better off because of it. it was really interesting and i enjoyed learning about it. 2. I would go back through and fix any errors i had made. i would write more if i had more time and spend more time making sure i had gone over everything enough. 3. The step that benefited me the most was probably the outline. it helped me know what to write and it helped me stay on track in my research and throughout the paper. 4. I learned what an annotated bibliography is. 5. If i could change this assignment i would get rid of the peer review. i did not find it very helpful.

Questions

1. I am most proud of the fact that I did not procrastinate the project until the final week. I completed the project well before the due date. It was a moral victory for me. 2. If I was given more time I would try to get a more detailed and specific research question/sources. Doing this would make the paper more concise and better overall. 3. The annotated bibliography benefitted me the most because it helped to refresh my mind on economics. I had not created any models for a few months so it was nice to read over the articles and write about them before I had started writing the paper. It gave me a nice sense of what I was going to write. 4. I learned how to write an annotated bibliography and the use of the FSU library resources was the most beneficial to me. Knowing how to do these things will help me in the future as I progress towards my degree. 5. If I could I would increase the word count because I had much more I wanted to do, as well as go in depth to a much greater e

Questions

1. What are you most proud of in this essay. I am really proud of my graphs. They are pretty. 2.What would you change or add in the essay if you were given more time? I would probably change the layout of my paper because it is weird. 3. Considering all of the steps we took, which one benefitted you the most? I really think that the annotated bibliography helped me the most because it made choosing sources a lot easier. 4. In terms of writing, what did you learn from project 2? I learned that I probably need to start writing earlier than I do. 5. If you could, what would you change about this assignment? I would make it have a smaller word count.

Action Plan

since I was absent last class, I did not get the opportunity to have my paper peer reviewed, but I have gone over it a few times on my own and determined that I could benefit by making my thesis more clear and making the literature review more objective. In addition, I need to make sure that there's a paragraph at the end of my interview section that explains why the interviews I conducted tie in with my argument.

Action Plan

Based on the peer review in class, I received good feedback on where to go next on my paper. For the final draft, I will have to add a literature review, more commentary to my factual evidence, and clarification for some of the points. I am feeling confident in the execution of my essay for the final draft.

Action Plan

Based on the feedback you've received, what changes are you planning on making before the next draft? WHat feedback are you definitely taking? what feedback are you unsure about? Changes I want to make are to expand on some of my paragraphs and include more detail into my paper to make things more clear and not confusing. I will also change some of the wording in my paper because some of it is repetitive as I reread over my work. I am planning to change the structure of some of my paragraphs and include more quotations to see if that helps to put more detail into my paper. I was unsure of some of the feedback regarding some of the wording given to me by my peer.

Action Plan

I received helpful constructive feedback from my peer reviews. In order to improve my paper my peers suggested that I include a literature review at the beginning of my essay in order to give my readers a background on the topic. I will also make sure I reach the necessary word count and make sure all my sources are cited correctly. I will also make sure to reread my essay to check for any grammatical errors.

Action Plan

After peer reviewing in class, both of reviewers said there is nothing that needs to be added to my paper. My next step is to just reread it to make sure there are no grammatical errors and that are my sources are cited properly.

Action plan

After reading my peer reviews, there were not a lot of suggestions made. One noted that I could have used a counter claim however I feel as though I already included it so I am going to stick with my original writing. One thing that I did decide to incorporate was the literature review. Though I was a little confused as I have never done one of those before so I did my best. Other than that the only changes I plan on making/made were minor grammatical/ structural issues. Overall I feel like I incorporated everything into my essay that I wanted to.

Action Plan

Based on the peer review I️ have little to change in my research paper. If I️ finish my paper the same way as I️ started it, I️ think I️ should be okay. I️ just need to focus on the setup of my paper. But I think everything is going well.

Action Plan

Based on the feedback I received from the peer review session, there are minimal aspects to my research paper that need to be changed. The most important change that needs to be completed before submitting my final draft is I need to make sure to fully develop my opinions within my conclusion. I also believe that there are a few sentences that could be enhanced within my literature review. I believe that these changes will make my essay more coherent to readers.

Action Plan

There are a couple changes I need to make to my final research paper before I turn it in. First of all, I need to add my literature review. Personally, this aspect has been really confusing to me so the incorporation into my paper will be quite difficult but I plan to integrate it well. I also need to elaborate a little more into my explanations by using examples that have happened recently to better help the reader understand. I also need to tweak some of the minor grammatical errors in my paper.

Action Plan

Before I turn in my research paper, there are some changes I need to make. I plan to take some of the feedback I got from my classmates where they let me know which parts of my essay seemed confusing or where they believe I need to add more information because I want to make sure my research is clear for the audience to understand. I also need to change how I formatted my survey, as well as add to my overall discussion section of my paper. I do not have any feedback I am unsure about because I plan to use my classmates' comments on my essay as constructive criticism and use their notes as beginning guidelines of what parts of my essay need editing.

Action Plan

There are many changes that I need to make to my paper before I turn it in. First of all, my research question isn't clearly stated. Also, I need to incorporate more sources that help support my research question. I also have a lot of grammatical errors. I feel that if I fix these things that my paper will be a lot better by the time I turn it in.

Action Plan

Before my final draft is due, I need to make my writing more clear, as the goal of my essay isn't very clear. I also need to restructure my essay into bullets/sections that answer each of my research questions individually, rather than synthesizing it into one big paragraph. I am taking the advice to incorporate my sources more into my argument because currently, I am not utilizing them at all and am going more off of personal opinions rather than a professional's.

Action Plan

I am planning on making my research question more clear to the audience.  I definitely appreciate the feedback from another student because even though my research question is obvious to me, I did not realize I did a poor job of making it obvious to my reader.  I am also going to make my personal argument more clear. I am not unsure about any of the feedback, I feel that it is all going to help me improve my essay.

Action Plan

Based off of the feedback that I had received, I am planning to fine tune my paper and address the authors more clearly in the Lit Review. I am also going to read over the paper and look for any grammar issues. I am definitely taking the feedback concerning my approach towards the Lit Review. It was very helpful having another set of eyes, that is a student's, look at my Lit Review to ensure that I had done it correctly. Overall, I felt that the peer review was very beneficial and helped me figure out what I could do to edit my paper and make it even better.
